Air Fryer Chicken Cutlets

In this article, you will learn how to make chicken cutlets in the air fryer. It is a simple recipe with a clean cooking process. Let's jump into it.

Air Fryer Chicken Cutlets

What are Chicken Cutlets? When you make thin slices of chicken breast, these are called chicken cutlets. These are boneless and skinless, pure meat flesh.

While you can buy presliced chicken cutlets from your nearest grocery store, you can also use your homemade chicken slices for this recipe. Well, you can call them your homemade chicken cutlets. So let's make our own chicken cutlets.

Making Homemade Chicken Cutlets

For making homemade chicken cutlets take your chicken breast. Remove the center bone from it and take apart the meaty part. Now take a sharp knife and make thin slices horizontally from the meat's thick to the thin end.

When making slicing, ensure each slice has the same thickness so you can cook them evenly simultaneously. Freeze your chicken for almost 30 minutes for perfect slices. It is more convenient to make frozen chicken slices.

Why Air Fryer Chicken Cutlets?

We can deep fry these cutlets, but I am air frying them because these are healthier than deep frying. Deep frying uses more oil, that's not good for our health. But in air frying, it takes only a splash of oil, and you will get perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy chicken cutlets in no time.

Air Fryer Chicken Cutlets

You can still follow the recipe if you don't have an air fryer. It will work perfectly.

How To Cook Air Fryer Chicken Cutlets?

Let's start with making things ready. Take 2 bowls and one plate. Pour breadcrumbs into one bowl and eggs (only egg whites) into another bowl. We will use the plate for our bread-crumbed cutlets and later for cooked cutlets.

Air Fryer Chicken Cutlets

Another necessary step is to preheat your air fryer. This step is necessary for crispness and tenderness. Preheat your air fryer to 400F(200C) for approx 3 minutes.

With olive oil spray, generously spray the air fryer basket. Now take one chicken slice, and dip it into the egg white. Next, dip into the breadcrumb and place into the plate. Repeat this procedure for all reaming cutlets and prepare them for air fry.

Now place each coated cutlet into the air fryer basket. Check the place in the air fryer basket and adjust the cutlets accordingly. Don't overcrowd them in the basket. Otherwise, the results can be soggy and uneven.

Air Fryer Chicken Cutlets

Different air fryers have different filling capacities. In some air fryers, you can only place 2 cutlets simultaneously. For large air fryers, you can place 3 cutlets.

We will cook chicken cutlets for 15 minutes. Flip the cutlets after halftime and spray oil. Cook them until you get the perfect golden color.
